A natural born athlete. A strong leader. A teammates' teammate. She loves to compete. Only a Freshman, Emerson Callahan is a highly talented multi-sport athlete known for her athleticism and leadership on and off the field.
In softball, she's a standout shortstop, middle infielder and utility player, competing nationally with Germantown Red Devils for competitive/travel softball and playing high school softball for St. Benedict's in Memphis, which placed third in the state in 2023.
In varsity high school soccer, Emerson started every game, playing all over the field with primary roles at the 6th position and right defender for Lausanne Collegiate School, which finished second in the state for the first time in school history in 2024. This followed her standout season in competitive soccer with Germantown Legends Soccer where she played starting wing for the 2009 squad that won the D2 State Championships in 2024.
She also is a varsity leader in basketball for Lausanne Collegiate School after finishing middle school with multiple county championships and back-to-back all tournament team selections. She's a strong shooting guard, but versatile enough to work at point, forward and even center.
Known for her sports intelligence, intense play and enthusiastic spirit, she is a strong and wise vocal presence on the field who provides her fellow athletes with unwavering support. Despite the demanding schedule of a driven multi-sport athlete, she has maintained a 4.0 GPA, showcasing her commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
Leading comes naturally to Emerson, and she invests time studying the best to improve that gift in service to others. She was the student body president of her middle school and the vice president before that. Taking leadership roles in high school and on every team where she plays, she relishes opportunities to make a positive impact in the lives of others. She's often described as articulate, empathetic, inspiring, empowering, driven, loyal, faithful, high energy, organized, and responsible – qualities that she strives to embody in all aspects of her life.
